Transforming Jewellery 

Project Outline

Task

• Renders of silver jewellery pieces needed to be transformed into gold jewellery and an existing gold colour was not in use
   

Approach

1. I sourced both existing gold jewellery from Seed2Stone as well as different online images of gold items that my superior and I used to hone in on the perfect colour
   ​

2. Isolated each jewellery item from its background, and applying non destructive Recolour, Shadow and Brightness Adjustment Layers using Masking techniques.

Challenges

​​

• Some pieces required further editing to remove excessive shadows present in silver jewellery but not gold​

Results

​

I achieved results that not only mirrored the authenticity of gold but also maintained the integrity of each jewellery design, allowing Seed2Stone to save on resources required to photograph real gold jewellery while still allowing customers to see what the jewellery would look like before a purchase is made.
